Cancer Risk Assessment/Genetic Counseling can be helpful to individuals concerned about their risk of developing cancer. You may want to consider a consultation if:
you or a relative developed cancer early (i.e., breast or colon cancer before age 50)
you are part of a family with both breast
and ovarian cancer
you or a relative have had more than one cancer or have had bilateral cancer (i.e., both breasts)
you or a relative has had ovarian cancer
you or a male relative has had breast cancer
3 or more family members on one side of the family have had cancer
you are Ashkenazi Jewish and have had cancer
OR
a family member has tested positive for a genetic mutation
